We are currently recruiting for the following positions:

Scheduling Coordinator

As Scheduling Coordinator, primarily responsibility is to ensure coverage of nursing shifts, so that the appropriate number of personnel is on duty in every given shift.

Hours of Work: Approximately 22.5-30 hours a week. 9am to 5pm (days of the week to be determined in consultation)

DUTIES INCLUDE:

  • Manage and produce staff schedules using scheduling software
  • Perform data entry and adjust electronic timecards based on payroll exceptions and the collective agreement
  • Consult and communicate with the Director of Care and the Charge Nurse concerning staffing and scheduling needs
  • Schedule shifts when employees call in sick
  • Communicate changes of employee shifts or task assignments
  • Prepare internal and external employment openings and post as appropriate
  • Collaborate and assist members working in the business office with human resources tasks, such as setting up interviews with potential candidates, gather new hire paperwork or make change to employee status
  • Maintain attendance records and assist with data collection for the progressive discipline process for staff members who may demonstrate excessive absences and/or tardiness
  • Answer incoming telephone lines; take and relay messages as required
  • Perform clerical duties such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, making copies, filing documents
  • Assist the Director of Care with counting inventory and ordering supplies as required
  • Performs other duties as required

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

  • Successful completion of a recognized Business Administration or Medical Secretary Program or minimum of 2 years of business administration experience required
  • 1 – 2 years scheduling experience preferred
  • Computer software skills essential
  • Scheduling software experience is an asset but not required (Staff Schedule Care)
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Interpersonal skills and telephone manners
  • Ability to make decisions independently and appropriately
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize workflow
  • Comfort working in an office environment
  • Punctual and reliable

Cleaning Contract – Community Outreach

West Huron Care Centre is hiring a motivated person, who is also takes initiative to fill our cleaning contract for our community rental space.

  • Approximately 4-6 hours/week
  • Flexible hours, including days, nights, and weekends
  • Experience using floor scrubber and cleaning products is an asset
  • Insurance required
  • Cleaning product and equipment are supplied
  • Start date is effectively immediately

Responsibilities:

  • Weekly cleaning of community rental space (eg. community kitchen, meeting room, senior independent living foyer and hallway, community tub room, etc.), including floors, wiping, disinfecting, etc.
  • Assist with rental set-up and take-down when required
  • Quarterly deep cleaning of windows, community kitchen equipment, etc.

Part Time Registered Nurse

We have an opening for a Part Time Registered Nurse, effective immediately.

Qualifications:

  1. Current certificate of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  2. A serving heart and a passion for caring for seniors.
  3. Previous experience in LTC is an asset, with comprehensive knowledge of duties.
  4. Ability to work individually and as part of a team, to prioritize tasks in order of urgency and solve problems when they arise.
  5. Excellent communication (verbal and written) and comprehension skills.
  6. Competence in all aspects of safe medication practices.

Candidate must be available to work all shifts, including weekends.

Blue Water Rest Home at West Huron Care Centre , is currently seeking applications for Registered Practical Nurse (RPN).

Qualifications:

  1. Current license in good standing as a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) by the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  2. Demonstrated competence in all aspects of safe medication practice.
  3. General LTC experience considered as asset.
  4. PIECES, UFIRST, GPA training considered an asset.
  5. Proficient computer skills, RAI-MDS knowledge and experience desirable.
  6. Current CPR certificate.

Candidate must be available to work all shifts, including weekends.
